
Former National Security Co-ordinator, under former President Mahama administration, Lt. RTD. Colonel Larry Gbevlo Lartey has issued a warning to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) against any attempts to rig the elections. He said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is ready to defend the ballots even at the peril of their lives and nobody will steal the election.
According to him, the NDC is committed to peace during the elections as was reiterated in the peace meeting political parties held with the Security agencies. Lt. Col. RTD Gbevlo Lartey gave this warning at a press conference organized by the party to announce its readiness ahead of the election. He added that “we in the NDC are going to make sure we defend and protect its right and the right of its members as contained in the 1992 constitution”. Lt Col. Gbevlo Lartey, therefore, called on all NDC agents to be vigilant from the time of election declaration at the polling station and the transportation of the results to the collation centre.
He called on every NDC to endeavour to capture the PPP results and screenshot and send to party and urged all polling agents and supporters to be present in the transportation of the results to the collation centre. He also urged all former NDC Appointees from the regions to go back to the regions and support in the vigilance work. The NDC according to him insists that the will of the people must prevail at the end of the election adding that the NDC is confidence of winning the elections.
Lt. Col. Rtd Gbevlo Lartey gave this caution at a press conference in Accra stated that the NDC is going to be vigilant and will use all legitimate means to resist any attempt to steal the election”. He said the party have instructed all our agents to be very vigilant and to make sure that nobody rigs the election.
