Naa Sakoa Foundation Commissions Vocational Centre

God Grace Ministries in partnership with Lily of the Valley and Naa Sakoa Widows and Aged foundation has commissioned a vocational centre in Manhean in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region. The establishment of the vocational centre is aimed at eradicating poverty among the youth within Manhean and its environs. The vocational centre is strategically located in Manhean and is aimed at curbing teenage pregnancy and empower young girls to be productive and responsible adults in their community. Students will be trained in sewing, hairdressing, decorations and pastries.

Addressing the gathering, the Manye of Manhean Naa Sakoa who doubles as the founder of Naa Sakoa Widows and Aged Foundation revealed that the establishment of the centre was the result of her request to a U.S based Non-governmental Organization, God Grace Ministries to set up an institution that will train the youth.

According to her, an increasing number of teenagers who should have been in school are being impregnated and idleness among the youth of Manhean is prevalent; thus, compelling her to request the NGO to help establish a vocational centre in an attempt to mitigate teenage pregnancy in the area. She called on the people of Manhean to encourage the youth in acquiring vocational skills and refrain from idleness.
