President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said his main task is to help the newly elected flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party NPP Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia win the 2024 elections.

The President expressed confidence that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with the assistance of his fellow contenders and all the other contestants will provide the NPP the strong leadership that will take on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2024. President Akufo-Addo said this during the ceremony to outdoor Vice-President Dr. Bawumia as the newly elected flagbearer on Saturday night [Nov 4] in Accra. The President urged all members of the party to unite and join hands and work hard during the campaign. He revealed that the 2024 general election would not be an easy one but reiterated that with optimism, unity and courage, God will pave the way for the NPP on December 7.

As tradition of the party demands, President Akufo-Addo together with the National Chairman of the NPP Stephen Ntim symbolically handed over the flag of the party to Dr. Bawumia officially making him the new flagbearer and leader of the party.
