Mohammed VI Foundation Donates Ramadan Package To Over 250 Muslims

Muhammed VI Foundation for African Ulama a charity organization founded by the King of Morocco that seeks to bring Muslim Scholars together in promoting Islam has donated food items to over 250 Muslim families in Ghana.

The donation forms part of the foundation’s annual package for Muslim in many African countries during the month of Ramadan.

The items included 22.5kg of rice, cooking oil, bags of tea leafs, milk and tomato paste. It is the expectation that the items will go a long way to, cushion the burden of many Muslim families within the Muslim communities.

During the month of Ramadan, Muslims are encouraged to engage in various forms of charity, including providing food and financial support to the needy.

The act of giving during the month of Ramadan is not only a means of fulfilling religious obligations but as a way to purify one’s wealth and seek spiritual rewards.

This is the reason for the Mohammed VI Foundation for African Ulama yearly donation.

The donation is targeted at widows, people with disability and the poor within the society. According to the foundation bringing joy on the faces of the needy is their topmost priority.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of distribution of the food items, the President of the Ghana branch of the foundation, Sheikh Mustapha Ibrahim stated that Ramadan was dedi­cated to strengthening ties with the community, embody­ing the spirit of sharing and togetherness which is paramount to the Muslim faith.

He called for peaceful religious co-existence in the country and hope that Muslims would continue to uphold the core values of the religion which stood for peace and tolerance.

Sheikh Ibrahim also expressed gratitude to the King and the government of Morocco for their support to Ghanaians and other African countries.

On her part, the Moroccan Ambassador, Ms Ouaadil wished the Muslim community a successful Ramadan.
