
Kwamena Duncan, Central Regional Minister, has commended Gomoa Akyempim Zango Cheif Tahirou Awudu Zaaki for
playing a significant role in the development of Ghana.
He said some traditional rulers had used heir own resources, mobilized their people and undertaken development programmes and projects in their respective communities.
He revealed that some of the programmes and projects include the provision of infrastructural facilities, education and ensuring peace and security for the people,improving relationship with neighbouring communities, as well as lobbying investors to Ghana thereby increasing FDI in the country.
After the minister’s comments, we spoke with Chief Tahirou Awudu, he outlined a number of the President’s social interventions including Planting for Food and Jobs, One-Village One-Dam 1V1D, animal husbandry, and planting of trees among others.
These policies, he noted, are pro-poor interventions that the region can tap into to improve the living standards of the people.
Kwamena Duncan assured the Chief of his readiness to bring home the region’s share of the national cake, adding that all he needed was the support of traditional rulers and his people in the Gomoa Akyempim Tradictional Council.
