MAMPRUSI CHIEF OF GREATER ACCRA SPEAKS …ABOUT UNITY, HAJJ 2019 & DEVELOPMENT

On the 28th August 2019 Wednesday Morning WadataOnline.com paid a courtesy call to the traditional ruler : Lion Naa Alhaji Osman Issahaku Chackson, who is the leading founder of the Mamprusi community in Greater Accra, with the support of his cabinet and traditional rulers of Accra. Note that mamprusi community today has thrived and is endowed with patriotic citizens due to pioneers like him whose allegiance is first to God: the source of peace and unity.

The Lion King, during our interaction with him, explained that the vision of a united and peaceful settlement in which ordinary citizens can conduct legal business activity is not achievable without unity. In spite of the fact that mamprusis were early Northerners that settled in Greater Accra, trading predominantly in yams, they were magnanimous enough to accept other Northerners as brothers and sisters from the North.

He pointed out that this gesture of peace among Northerners which he and his contemporaries promoted and symbolized must be appreciated by all stakeholders of development and government, cautioning that deviating from that vision of unity will only disorganize the future of youth who migrated from the North to the capital.

He asserted that the best way forward for Zango youth is to desist from tribalism, identify each other’s needs and unite as a community with an economic and social stake and advocate for positive change in our communities. Collective community involvement in the Provision of basic amenities as well as protection social values.

According to him, “Hating on your brother is not the best way to develop or improve one’s life and plan his future,” reminding Zango communities in the capital to promote their culture and instil traditional values in their children.

WadataOnline.com asked the traditional ruler his views and experience about this year’s and since he just returned from Hajj couple days ago. He stated that this year’s Hajj has been smooth and peaceful due to the current government’s innovative ideas and structural changes.

Furthermore, he commended the vice president of the nation for helping stabilize the hajj process and his support to the Zango council of chiefs.

The Lion King finally urged mamprusi people in the capital to watch him live on HomeBase TV on segment dubbed “Acikin Zongo” as he talks about their culture and his developmental projects for the youth and mamprusi nationwide.
