Lt. Col. Justina Frimpong, the first female Commanding Officer (CO) of the Transportation Battalion Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces, Lt Col Justina Frimpong on Friday, May, 10 donated to Ghana Senior High School in Koforidua.
The donation was in line with an appeal made to Lt Col Justina Frimpong by the school authorities with regards to furniture deficient in the school, when she paid courtesy call on the school during the 67th Independence Day Anniversary celebration held in Koforidua.
In a short address, Lt Col Frimpong who is an old student of Ghana Senior High School said she was touched by the plight of her alma mater when she visited the school and decided to come to their aid.
She said, she owes the school more than what she has given, and further promised to contact her year group (1999) to assist the school in any way they can.
The Headmistress, Mrs. Diana Akosua Mintah on behalf of management, expressed appreciation and thanked Lt Col Justina Frimpong for the kind gesture.
The Headmistress said, the one hundred (100) mono desks will go a long way to help reduce the furniture deficit in the school.
She used the opportunity to make a passionate appeal to other stakeholders, philanthropists, NGOs and especially to Lt Col Frimpong and her year group to help the school renovate their assembly hall roofing, and girls dormitory wash rooms.
Lt Col Justina Frimpong hails from Koforidua Oyoko in the Eastern Region and attended Ghana Senior High School, Koforidua and later studied Operations and Supply Chain Management with Green Hill College, Gimpa.
