Launching of Zango Skills Project

Last Saturday, Insha Allah the Hon Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, Minister at the Ministry of Inner City and Zango Development successfully launched the Zango Skills Project, a project being championed by the Initiative for Youth Development (IYD) to provide relevant skills training opportunities to 100,000 young people across Zango communities in all 16 regions of Ghana. Also present to grace the occasion were Hon Yussif Jajah, MP for Ayawaso North, Hon Hajia Salma Adams Kuta, MCE for Ayawaso East, Rashida Saani Nasamu, CEO of the Izar Group, Alhaji Baba Saddique, Deputy CEO of the Zongo Development Fund, and Saani Adib Jatikay, an international security expert. The chairman of the occasion was Sarkin Samari Hausawan Ankara, Alhaji Salisu Maude.

To finance the operations of the project, IYD has constituted an independent Board of Trustees to raise funds, but more importantly to supervise the disbursement of same to ensure the smooth operations of the project. The Zango Skills Project is in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals of providing Decent Jobs for young people in deprived communities.
