KUST partners US embassy on staff training

The Kano State University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil has collaborated with the United State’s embassy on staff training and research.

Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Shehu Alhaji Musa stated this when he received a delegation from the US embassy on Thursday.

Mr Bichi, a professor of physics, said that the institution has recorded significant achievements in terms of staff training and research, adding that the collaboration came at the right time.

He recalled that the KUST “came into existence in 2001 with only two faculties, 82 students, 10 academic staff and 14 non-academic staff.”

He also commended the U.S embassy for the visit, noting that it will go a long way in taking the university to greater heights.

On his part Mr. Sterling Tilley, the Culture Officer, US Embassy in Nigeria, who led the delegation said they were ready to collaborate with the KUST to facilitate the training of the varsity’s staff in the US.

He added that students of the institution can also enjoy a trip to the US for research or training.
