Islam Frowns On LGBTQ And I Will Never Allow It As President – Bawumia Reassures Imams

The Vice President and Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has reiterated his stance against the practice of homosexuality in Ghana.

Addressing Imams, Chiefs and Muslim leaders of the Savannah Region in Damongo on Wednesday, Dr. Bawumia said his stance against the practice is non-negotiable because his religion frowns upon it, and so is the Christian Religion and the Ghanaian society.

“There is this issue of LGBTQ which people are talking about. It something that I will never allow to happen as President. Our religion is against it and the Ghanaian society is also against it. It will never happen here, ‘ Dr. Bawumia said.

Dr. Bawumia’ s declaration was met with excitement, as the Imams applauded him.

The NPP Flagbearer has been interacting with various stakeholders, including Imams and the Clergy, throughout the country to explain his vision and policies for the country to them, and also seek their suggestions.
