Election 2024: Accra Council Of Zongo Chiefs Offer Special Prayers For Ghana 

The Greater Accra Council of Zongo Chiefs under the spiritual leadership of his eminence the National Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Dr. Osuman Nuhu Sharubutu have held a special prayers for the nation for a peaceful 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary election.

The event started with a Quran recitation where prayers and supplication were held before the commencement of the special prayers by the National Chief Imam.

The special prayers brought together Zongo and tribal Chiefs from the Greater Accra region who shared their words of prayers for the peace of the nation.

Personnel from various security services where also at the event to share their words of advice to the youth and their preparation ahead of the election.

Political party’s representatives were given the opportunity to talk to the people and assured the chiefs of their preparedness to maintain peace before, during and after the election.

The event sought to promote peace and unity within the Zongo Communities and to remind the youth of the need to promote peace as well as become ambassadors of peace.

The event was also to seek divine intervention for this year’s Presidential and Parliamentary Elections and to pray for the Presidential Candidates and all Political Parties, the Electoral Commission, the Security Agencies,

the Media and Ghanaians as well.

In his address, the Greater Accra Moshie Chief and the General Secretary of the Greater Accra Council of Zongo Chiefs Naaba Sigiri stated that the leadership of all Political Parties need prayers.

He revealed that the Greater Accra Council of Zongo Chiefs have a programme to reach out to all districts in the Greater Accra Region to encourage all District Council of Zongo Chiefs to be partners in promoting peace in their Communities.

Naaba Sigiri called on all Chiefs to become ambassadors of peace and make their voices be heard at social and religious functions within their community no matter what.

He appealed to the National Chief Imam to urge all Imams to also preach peace during their sermons to the youth and educate them to say no to violence and embrace peace.

He further appealed to the politicians to sincerely position

God in all their activities and must remember Allah in whatever they do as well as watch their Words.

According to him the nation will forever remain grateful to them should they abide by the moral principles of life “Do unto others, as you want to be done to you”.
