Council of Zango Chiefs Pays a Courtesy Call on Mustapha Hamid

On Monday, 8th June, 2020, the Greater Accra Regional Council of Zango Chiefs led by it’s acting Chairman, Chief Siddique Gimala called on the Hon. Minister for Inner City and Zongo Development, Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid at his office in Accra. The Ministry was lauded for the Zongo Development Fund initiative meant for developmental projects in Zongo communities across the country.

According to Chief Alhaji Morro Baba Issah, P.R.O. for the eminent Chiefs, the Council supports the Ministry’s focus on educational projects. In view of that, a parcel of land will be offered for the construction of a Senior High School at the precinct of the Central Mosque, Abbosey Okai in Accra. The proposed school to be named after the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.

Dr. Abdul-Hamid was presented with a document containing the architectural designs of the proposed project as well as the plan of the land. Thrilled by their presence, the Hon. Minister assured his guests of the Ministry’s continuous support for their activities. To show his commitment to the construction of the proposed “Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu Senior High School”, the Hon. Minister promised to visit the site with a technical team from the Ministry. An appeal was made to the council to continuously support the Ministry’s efforts of shaping Zango communities as well as the Zongo Development Fund.
