Accra, Dec 24, GNA – The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Joseph Chikpa, the District Crime Officer, the Ministries Police Station, has advised the public to be crime conscious during the Christmas festivities.

He said criminals were ready to take advantage of persons who gave access to their property unconsciously.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), DSP Chikpa said being careful and conscious during these times would help reduce crime rates during the yuletide.

He said travellers and traders should desist from carrying huge sums of money on them to avoid any form of attacks by criminals, but adopt cashless transactions.

“Lock up your homes when going out, make sure there is always someone at home to ensure security when leaving for church or travelling out of town,” he said.

The Crime officer advised drivers to monitor trailing vehicles through the mirror and park at a secured area and observe to confirm their suspicion.

He urged the citizenry to report to the police when they suspected any form of criminal movements within their communities.
