
Fifteen-year-old Georgina Antwi pupil of Ankaful basic school near Cape Coast was allegedly murdered in cold blood by some suspected “Sakawa” boys residents of their community.
Father of the murdered young girl Mr. Emmanuel Mintah, disclosed that the heinous crime against his daughter happened on Friday, January 17, whilst the Georgina was on her way to school from Akotokyir to Ankaful in a bush path when she was abducted and subsequently murdered.
Georgina’s lifeless body was discovered in the early hours of Saturday by some residents of the community who informed law enforcement agencies.
The body of the deceased had been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital awaiting autopsy and preservation.
Police investigations later led to the apprehension of two young men suspected to have masterminded the homicide. They are expected to help law enforcement officers with investigations.
The suspected criminals are reported to have mentioned an accomplice who unfortunately is on the run and the police are urging the general public with any information regarding the fugitive to come forward.
Mr. Mintah described his daughter as obedient, intelligent and respectable who took her education very seriously and called on the police to make sure that perpetrators of the heinous crime are brought to justice.
The Chief of Ankaful, Nana Abura Sankoma, in an interview with the media expressed concern about the recent increase in crime in the community.
He, however, gave the assurance that community elders will work alongside law enforcement agencies to wipe out social miscreants terrorizing innocent people within the area.
Meanwhile, the Police have intensified their investigations, a police source told the Ghana press agency in Cape Coast.
